  1. @3SHOULD WE FAKE DOCTORS?

  5.                  I dunno...do we really want "fake" Doctors?  In a
  6. multiple Doctor story that I was once writing, the fourth Doctor had given
  7. the Brigadier a device (tuned to the Doctor's brain patterns) that he
  8. could use in the event of an emergency.  It was basically a whistle, to call
  9. the Doctor in the event of a terrible disaster.  Well, the Brigadier ran into
  10. such a disaster in the story I was writing (the ubiquitous alien invasion,
  11. natch :), so he "blew the whistle".  At the time he blew it off, it just
  12. happened to find Hartnell as he was becoming Troughton, so that left both
  13. out of the picture for the story (Granted, in the written medium, I didn't
  14. have to leave either out, but I wanted to account for both actors' being
  15. dead as an exercise in writing. :), leaving both Bakers, Pertwee, Davison,
  16. and McCoy to answer the summons.  Something along those lines could be done,
  17. although I'd like to see a nod given to both in a future multiple Doctors
  18. story.
